amaysim is transforming.. and we need your help! We're no longer the start-up we once were. We've become an award-winning, listed telco, servicing well over 1,000,000 customers. To allow us to continue growing and delivering an amazingly simple experience for our customers, we're changing the way we build and deliver software. We're making the transition from projects to products, legacy to new, balls of mud to greenfield(s), manual to automation, datacenter to cloud. We're well underway on this journey, and we've made huge strides, but we need your help to maintain the momentum we've already achieved.

As a project manager at amaysim, you will be working in a mixed discipline environment. Our internal software development is built using Agile methodologies, but this does not extend to all our projects, especially ones that involve 3rd Parties. At amaysim, you will work on a large variety of projects and must be comfortable with both Agile and Waterfall. Who we are looking for?

You! No seriously, if you think you have some or all of the below skills or experience we'd love to hear from you:


  • Experience managing projects from varying technologies

  • Coordination of technology and business people

  • Creating and managing detailed, high-quality project plans

  • Managing third-party vendors and service providers

  • Building and driving mature project management methodologies

  • Experience building lean processes

  • Promoting agile methodologies across the business

  • Contribute to the prioritisation process with the broader amaysim team 

  • Strategic contributions to establishing a project management office in a maturing technology environment

In addition to the above, we are looking for someone that can help drive us forward in terms of project management maturity. You will have experience introducing new processes and optimising existing processes. You are someone who understands that processes are a double edged sword and is always balancing freedom and efficiency with reliability. You will be just as proud of the processes you have removed as the ones you have added.

What else?

As a PM we don't expect you to be the master of all, but to give you an idea, here are the technology's we use to build our platforms:

  • Languages: GoLang, Java, Cold Fusion and Ruby on Rails
  • Developer Tools: JIRA & Confluence
  • Automation: We go by DevOps practices, that means our devs and operations teams work hand in hand throughout the process. It also means the first question you should always ask is 'can it be automated?'
  • Infrastructure: We love the cloud and run everything in Amazon Web Services. We are also in the process of building our next generation dockerised platform.
  • Platform types: High volume systems, Billing/account and e-commerce systems


It is not mandatory, but desirable that you would have any of the certificates below:

  • PMP, Prince2 or similar
  • Scrum Master Certificate or similar


We're less concerned about 'seniority' through years of experience and much more interested your actual accomplishments, your high levels of motivation, your sense of ambition and desire to innovate as well as your collaborative and team-focused attitude. We'd love to hear about some of the other projects where you've displayed these traits and more. If you have examples of your work projects or presentations you've done, even better!
