Head of Brand Strategy, Research and Insights

Role Overview

The role is made of three core components:

Brand strategy:

Lead, develop, own, update and support implementation of the amaysim group brand strategy to maximise business growth by aligning brand and customer strategies with commercial strategies across all verticals and functions.

Research:

Lead consumer research at amaysim by owning, facilitating, running and or assisting with internal customer research, regular consumer programs, adhoc bespoke projects, partnered market research and relevant desktop research.

Insights:

Lead and assist in development, collection, interpretation, and distribution of consumer insights to inspire and enable the business to deliver amazing customer results with real business impact.

Job Responsibilities

Brand strategy:

  • Work with the SLT and commercial teams to develop the group brand strategy and ensure all teams and business functions both understand and deliver in a way that is true to this strategy.
  • Work with our agency partners to deliver great brand strategy outcomes for the business.
  • Work with internal and external teams (including the commercial, customer experience and marketing teams) to develop and refresh (as needed) target audiences, segments and personas. 
  • Work with the Marketing Director and team to guide and support on implementation of the brand strategy and architecture.
  • Work with the Product and Commercial teams to develop disruptive, brand supported commercial products for our customers.
  • Be the Brand custodian and champion the benefits of brand, and our brand specifically, within the wider business group.
  • Mentor and support the marketing team on large, integrated and/or complex briefs where required.
  • Lead all large-scale marketing communication campaigns that have an ATL component from conception to delivery
  • Support the CCO and SLT on brand and business planning where required

 

Research:

  • Be the central point within the business to manage, counsel and/or assist with research programs.
  • Empower everyone within the business to collect, use and share research.
  • Ensure best practice research principles are applied for:
    • accuracy
    • relevancy for business application
    • and identify commonality between research programs for efficiency.
       

Insights:

  • Generate amazing insights from research and communicate them in a way the business can both understand and drive action from.
  • Use insights to help the business innovatively solve commercial problems.
  • Share insights in a way that helps the marketing and design teams generate amazing creative.
  • Empower the whole business to access and use insights in their strategic, planning and ideation phases.
  • Manage and/or help run internal and group agency workshops.

 

Agency management:

  • Be the key contact for our market research and brand strategy agencies. 
  • This includes the overall account management, including contract negotiations, ways of working and issue resolution if required.  This does not include all day to day management.

Qualifications and Skills

Bachelor's degree, MBA or Masters

Relevant experience in digital marketing;

Very comfortable with technology;

Excellent analytical and decision-making skills;

Ability to work effectively in a constantly changing environment;

Be creative and results-oriented;

Demonstrate the ability to maintain excellent interpersonal relationships;
